WHO REQUIRES PAT TESTING?
By Law all Businesses and Organisations have a responsibility to ensure that their electrical equipment is safe to use.
The Health & Safety at Work Act puts the duty of care upon both the employer and the employee to ensure the safety of all persons using the premises. This includes the self employed.
Failure to comply with regulations can be costly, with the possibility of invalidating Insurance Policies, which in the event of an accident resulting in a claim against your business, could have serious consequences.
BOLD PAT TESTING wants to ensure that your customers, employees, guests and tenants are safe - safety is our priority.
WHAT REQUIRES PAT TESTING AND WHY?
All portable appliances with a mains plug need to the PAT Tested and a PAT programme is the best way to achieve this. All items that pass the inspection and testing will be labelled with a sticker and a unique identification number that helps us keep track of all portable applicance in your property or company. We carry out the pat testing in accordance with the IEE Code of Practice. All results are recorded and you will be issued with a Completion Certificate for each property or company.

Over a period of time equipment deteriorates through normal use and by negligence. For this reason equipment should be regularly inspected and tested for electrical safety. It is reported by the Health & Safety Executive that 25% of all reportable electrical accidents involve portable appliances. Many fires are due to faulty electrical appliances.
